Webcomics

pennyarcade-logo.pngComics that are created for publication on the web. A webcomic. They’re quite popular, and keep getting more popular as time goes on. They’re not all like the typical Marvel/DC superhero fare though. No, they cover all types of issues/topics ranging from video games, to elves, to pop culture.

Penny Arcade (www.penny-arcade.com) received a little mention back in our December issue of Buzz for its Child’s Play charity. Arguably one of the most popular webcomics around, it focuses around the lives of two gamers, Tycho and Gabe. While it focuses on video games, I assure you there is at least one comic in the archive that anyone can enjoy.

The artwork has evolved over the years, and the popularity of the comic has landed the two-man team behind the comic a book publishing deal with Dark Horse Comics, its own annual convention called PAX (Penny Arcade Expo), the Child’s Play charity that raised more than $605,000 in its third year, and much more.

Head on over and check it out.
