Don’t forget this one
Going along with Kendal’s post, let’s not forget the teaser trailer for the new Transformers movie set to open July 4, 2007.
Random Transformers note: I watched the original 1980s movie last week, and it starts off “In the year 2005 …”

Nothing like a good wedding cake; Want free stuff?
Well, we just wrapped up the latest issue. Look for it beginning July 6.
Scrolling down to the middle of this page, you can find a rather interesting groom’s wedding cake. And because it’s in the shape of the almighty huge Xbox, you know there’s going to be plenty to go around.
Do you like receiving free stuff? BzzAgent is a marketing effort relying on word of mouth to market products the clients give them… huh? Basically, they give you stuff for free to try out/give away, at no cost to you. In return, you simply fill out questionairres they send you. I just received a box of 20 “Take 5” candy bars myself.

‘Sploding laptop!
I’m glad I don’t work PR for Dell right now. It seems that one of their laptops blew up, with several explosions, at a conference in Japan. Check it out, there are pictures. I guess that’s one laptop you wouldn’t want to use on your lap.
If you’re a fan of Desperate Housewives, Lost, Alias, or Commander in Chief, then you’re in luck … assuming you have a decent Internet connection. You can now watch all of those online, for free no less!
Confidential to the Buzz blog: I’m sorry for neglecting you, baby. I’ll try not to let it happen again.

Scariest kids show ever
Since I’m on the subject of television shows for kids, here’s The Onion’s take on one of the absolutely freakiest. I’ve actually blocked this show from my memory, but I will forever be haunted by this. And this. You know what, just check out everything Sid and Marty Kroft did to my generation here. Gigglesnort Hotel, however, is awesome. As is The Banana Splits, in large part because of Danger Island, which has the coolest opening sequence ever.

Coolest kids’ show ever
Pancake Mountain. Sesame Street has always spoofed popular rock songs to teach kids important lessons like how to cooperate (the Stones) or which letters begin with the Letter L (Billy Idol). But that doesn’t compare to actually having Henry Rollins and Shonen Knife on the show.

Are you ready for some football?
The World Cup is officially under way. It’s nice to know that a hometown hero is representing at the biggest sporting event on the planet. You can keep up with Clint Dempsey here. U-S-A, U-S-A!

Somehow we can blame the French
I don’t know which surprises me more, that criminal/lobbyist Jack Abramoff wanted to remake the worst movie ever (which was never actually finished), or that he wrote and produced Red Scorpion. He’s like a Bad Idea renaissance man.

Random movies: More than meets the eye
So this past weekend I checked out the latest silver screen offering for the X-Men franchise. I would say it delivered, but not in the way the second of the trilogy did. No, instead we are given non-stop action, with disregard for character development and a deep story. But we do receive character, uh… undevelopment with several deaths given to main characters.
Regardless of of, it was a good film worth seeing if you’re into that whole mutant thing. Also, a teaser trailer for cult favorite “Snakes on a Plane” was shown when I saw it. I was the only one in the theater that cheered for that.
Later this summer, we have another offering in the ways of superhero-dom, with “Superman Returns.” Directed by Brian Singer, director of the first two X-Men films, the film shall hopefully meet fan expectations. The plot is that Superman (spoiler: Clark Kent) has left Earth for a year or so, only to return one day.
The actor that signed on for the lead role looks remarkably similar to the late Christopher Reeve.
Other movies coming out include the aforementioned “Snakes on a Plane” and “Charlotte’s Web” (around Christmas time). Next year we can look forward to “Spider-Man 3” and a live-action movie of “Transformers.”
Now, with “Transformers,” I’m not sure what to make of it. Sure, I want it to be awesome, but I don’t know if it’ll meet expectation. Michael Bay (“The Rock,” “Armageddon”) is directing, Steven Spielberg is executive producing, most of the original voice talents are being contacted to reprise the roles of their robotic counterparts, and the story is being based off the original story first shown to audiences back in the mid-’80s, but still I’m scared that it could get screwed up. Supposedly a teaser trailer for the film is to be shown sometime this year around July.
If not, I’m sure more info will come from the San Diego Comic-Con this year (in July), where the film was first officially announced last year.
