No Robert Earl Keen show

Despite what it says in our new issue, which came out today, there will be no Robert Earl Keen show at the Rose Amphitheater in Henderson on Labor Day weekend. His management sent out this e-mail:

I want to thank you for your support of Robert Earl Keen’s appearance at The Rose Amphitheatre; however this show has been canceled. Going into the final week of marketing for this show, it became apparent that the terms and conditions that we require were unable to be met to produce a professional show. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please return all tickets at point of purchase for a full refund.

We’re not sure what “terms and conditions” weren’t being met, but after reading Gary Stallard’s interview with Keen, it’s obvious to us he takes his music seriously. With this canceled and Americana Fest moved to April, it’s going to be a slow Labor Day weekend around here. We advise you stay cool, rest up your livers and get ready for Do Dat Sept. 16.
