Vote or Don’t

Despite MySpace’s best intentions, none of you punk whippersnappers are gonna put down your 40s and hip hop 8-tracks long enough to actually vote. But, if you’re bored on Thursday, Kinky Friedman and Jesse Ventura are going to be at SFA, from 3 to 5 in the Twilight Ballroom.

Megadittos, Zach
Must we simply accept that while previous generations could look to, say, Clark Gable or Elvis or Barry White as the exemplar of male hotness, we’re stuck with a former Mouseketeer? I say no.

We want some feedback
The October just received its finishing touches today, and should be out Thursday, Oct. 5. It marks out two-year anniversary of publication. Thanks to everyone for reading.
Now we’d like some feedback. Is there something we should add? Tell us. We want to hear. Is there some aspect of East Texas entertainment we’re not mentioning? Perhaps you’re in a band or have some crazy thing you want to let the people know about. Just leave us a comment on here, or e-mail us at buzz@coxnews.com.

Sony has yet more trouble
So it came out Wednesday that Sony’s hopes for a worldwide launch of the PlayStation 3 have failed… not to my surprise, or many others’.
Sony had been planning for the PS3 to launch within days of each territory (Japan, North America, Europe) around Nov. 17, 2006. It was announced by Sony Computer Entertainment president, Ken Kutaragi, that the European launched would be pushed back until 2007, and the initial shipment of systems is to be cut back.
100,000 for Japan, and 400,000 for the United States.
My advice? Buy a PS3, eBay it, profit, buy competing systems. You’ll make a nice turnover profit, have extra cash in the pocket, and then later on you can buy a second-generation PS3 next year when it may be a little cheaper. That’s what I hope to do.
And another thing: Sony has been really pushing for all this hi-def technology. The system is to come with composite cables for system hookup (you know, the yellow red and white ones). This is not hi-def. To get that, you’ll have to go out and buy more expensive cables to get that great quality you may want.
Sony really seems to have become arrogant and lost touch with its installed user base.
