Negativity on the gaming side

Will Sony ever catch a break? Laptop battery recalls for Dell, IBM/Lenovo and Apple, shortage of PS3 consoles for sale in November, an insanely high price tag for a system that is said to be hard todevelop for, and now there are possible overheating problems for the system as well. Add on some ego from Sony execs, shake, stir, serve, and you have a bit of a dismal outlook for Sony’s dominance in the consumer electronics market.

Nintendo has saddened some people to as of late by confirming there will be no DVD playback (though original specs included that). I don’t know how many of you all use your gaming consoles as CD players, but you won’t be able to do that with Wii either it turns out.

Microsoft has the HD-DVD add-on coming out soon for the Xbox 360, but the company still claims it’s purely for movie playback. A double-edged sword, some are skeptical about the claim. Sure, you’ll be able to get a cheap HD-DVD player if you already own the 360, but you won’t be able to take advantage of the additional storage space for games with more content.

As a side note, check out the latest issue of Buzz when it’s released tomorrow. There’s plenty going on this month in East Texas, so you needn’t travel too far to have some fun.
