Halloween=Sexy time!
There’s a lot of stories about Halloween’s sex factor. What do you think? Good chance to let the alter-ego out, or “the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.”

Great costume idea
It’s Friday, and the five days of Halloween officially begin at Beer:30. Here’s a last-minute costume idea for you.

This is the end for me
This shall most likely be my last post, as I am leaving Buzz and moving on to other things, and a new city — Houston.
I shall continue various gaming coverage in print for Buzz, but I fear that is it. Let’s hope the next person to grace the picture at the top of this page with Kendal is as good looking as I am.

Some stripper sings badly
I have no idea who these people are (apparently, they’re popular in England … which gave us both the Beatles and the Spice Girls), but there’s no denying the one with bigger pecs is a deliciously terrible singer.

Reasons to take the day off
Today is National Boss Day. Wednesday is Love Your Body Day. Try not to get the two confused in any way.

Design nerds: Here’s a novel approach to making an, um, impact.

We’ve got chagrin, yes we do, we’ve got chagrin, how ‘bout you?
Seems someone at Texas State’s student newspaper is confused. The “Ax ‘Em Jacks” sign SFA fans make is not “mocking the sign Texas State fans make with their left hands symbolizing the state” (We’re not sure how they symbolize Texas, of all places, with their hands, but we’re sure it makes sense when you see it).

I’m going to hell for this
Via Rogers Cadenhead: This little essay from the Restored Church of God explains why God Hates Teen Blogging.
While there is tons of comedy gold here:
“Ask yourself, ‘Do I have a tendency to want to have a voice?’”
“There should never be a need to use slang or any type of wrong words. We are commanded to put off filthy communication (Col. 3:8).”
there are a few points that I actually agree with:
“A blog entry will start: ‘Current mood: ____’ The level of shallowness and emotional immaturity this represents is astonishing! In the grand scheme of things, why would the world at large care?”
but there’s a frightening level of intrusion here that is Taliban-like:
“Let me emphasize that no one—including adults—should have a blog or personal website (unless it is for legitimate business purposes). When this policy, now being instituted, was discussed with Mr. Pack and other Headquarters ministers, there was not a shadow of doubt in anyone’s mind that blogs are something youth should not be doing in any way.”
“Some questions naturally arise: “Can I have a photo gallery?â€? For example, maybe you visited an exotic country and want to share your photos with close friends. This can be done, but certain guidelines apply. Of course, there should never be any inappropriate pictures (again, be careful of the appearance of evil); it should be private and password protected, and only shown to family and closest friends.”
Funny stuff. Unless, of course, you’re a teen in the Restored Church of God.
Dang it

The newest in mix CDs
So a few years back the Gray Album came out.. a mix CD that combined The Beatles’ White Album with Jay-Z’s Black Album.
Now there’s Q-Unit — a mixmash of ’80s Queen and today’s 50 Cent. Now, I’m no fan of 50 Cent, but this is one I can enjoy.
Snag it over at Q-Unit.net.

Liberal propaganda or scary fact? We report, you decide whether or not to attend.
I got this press release second-hand, but I do not doubt its veracity. If it is, in fact, untrue, I will let you know.
Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful is joining several other community organizations, including the SFA Geography Club, SFA Sociology Club, Pineywoods Sierra Club and Austin Heights Baptist Church, in sponsoring the public viewing of An Inconvenient Truth. This environmental awareness film will be shown Monday, October 16 (6:30 p.m.) in Room 142 of the Vera Dugas Liberal Arts North Building, located on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University. FREE parking is available in the parking garage located on the corner of East College and Raguet streets.
Negativity on the gaming side
Will Sony ever catch a break? Laptop battery recalls for Dell, IBM/Lenovo and Apple, shortage of PS3 consoles for sale in November, an insanely high price tag for a system that is said to be hard todevelop for, and now there are possible overheating problems for the system as well. Add on some ego from Sony execs, shake, stir, serve, and you have a bit of a dismal outlook for Sony’s dominance in the consumer electronics market.
Nintendo has saddened some people to as of late by confirming there will be no DVD playback (though original specs included that). I don’t know how many of you all use your gaming consoles as CD players, but you won’t be able to do that with Wii either it turns out.
Microsoft has the HD-DVD add-on coming out soon for the Xbox 360, but the company still claims it’s purely for movie playback. A double-edged sword, some are skeptical about the claim. Sure, you’ll be able to get a cheap HD-DVD player if you already own the 360, but you won’t be able to take advantage of the additional storage space for games with more content.
As a side note, check out the latest issue of Buzz when it’s released tomorrow. There’s plenty going on this month in East Texas, so you needn’t travel too far to have some fun.
