The greatness of Texas music

For our last issue, I had the privilege of speaking with Guy and Pipp Gillette, the co-owners of the Camp Street Cafe and Store in Crockett. They’re amazing musicians, but not only because of their cowboy, folk-style, but also because of the way they select performers for their venue. This Saturday, Jed Marum, Mason Brown and special guest Hugh Morrison will grace the stage. After hearing a demo CD of Marum’s music, I think they will be quite a show. Each track on Marum’s demo has that unique folk style that makes me want to sit out on the front porch of a ranch with a pot of coffee and view the open range. Go check them out — here’s the 411.
