Heartbreaker

Well, it’s official; the Cowboys’ season is over. There I was last night, squeezing the life out of the throw pillow on my bed, with my eyes glued to the TV. The score was 21-17, but the Cowboys had possession of the ball and actually had a shot at winning. But as anyone who watched or read this morning’s paper knows, that was far from what happened. Ugh! It was torture for me to watch those last two minutes, particularly Romo’s last throw, which was intercepted by the Giants, and cost the the Cowboys a trip to the NFC Championship game. The Associated Press reported that last night’s loss was the first time a No.1 seed in NFC lost in this round since the NFL went to a 12-team playoff format in 1990. Why did it have to be the Cowboys? Some say it has to do with Romo’s recent flame, Jessica Simpson, but come on, I think not. Simpson, a Dallas native, may have made headlines for her appearance at the Dec. 16 against Philadelphia, but what many people may not be aware of is that she appeared at a couple of games prior to that. Her appearance didn’t seem to affect Romo’s performance then. Most recently, Romo gained negative attention from critics for his recent trip with Jessica to Mexico, but the truth is, it wasn’t Jessica’s presence that broke the hearts of Cowboys fans, it was all Romo himself.
