Bright and early this morning, well before I was awake, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Sid Ganis and Oscar winner Kathy Bates announced the nominations for the 80th Annual Academy Awards. Johnny Depp, who did an amazing job in his performance as Sweeney Todd, was nominated for best actor. Phillip Seymour Hoffman was nominated for best supporting actor for his performance in Charlie Wilson’s War. Juno, which I haven’t seen yet but looks like a great movie, was nominated in several categories, including, best picture, best original screenplay, best director, Jason Reitman and best actress, Ellen Page.
